Kansas Scholarship sand Grants
Students across the country have begun to realize the importance of having a college education, though arranging funds to obtain a college education can be overwhelming. Students go through a lot of anxiety while considering possibilities of loans, repayment periods and interest rates. Hence the state of Kansas offers a wide variety of scholarships and grants that are need based or merit based to help every student finance their college education.
Kansas Comprehensive Grants
The Kansas Comprehensive Grants is offered by the state government of Kansas to students residing in Kansas. Eligible students must be graduates of high schools located in Kansas and must be willing to enroll themselves in colleges or universities located in the state of Kansas. Priority is given to students who exhibit a serious financial need in their FAFSA forms. The award amount ranges from $100 to $3,000, varying due to individual need and enrollment in a private or public institution.

State Scholars Program
The State Scholars Program identifies students passing out of high school every year who have been state scholars. The program awards up to $1,000 per student per year. To be considered a state scholar the high school student should have taken the ACT exam before December of the senior year and completed the Kansas State Scholar curriculum.
A school official is usually appointed to guide and verify the potential applicants’ completion of the curriculum and 7th semester GPA. For application form and further information please visit:

Kansas Ethnic Minority Scholarship
The Kansas Ethnic Minority Scholarship awards up to $1,850 every year to minority students who wish to enroll themselves in Kansas colleges or universities. African Americans, Native Americans, Asians, Hispanics and Pacific Islanders are considered minorities under this program. The scholarship though need based, it is also decided keeping in mind the academic achievements of the applicants. Eligible students must have ACT score of 21 or SAT score of 990 or GPA of 3.0 or a high school ranking in the top 30% of their respective class.
 Vocational Scholarship
The Vocational Scholarship is a merit based scholarship offered by the state of Kansas and awards up to $500 every year. The program is open to students enrolled in a two-year vocational college. Eligible students must also take the vocational exam at per-designated sites. The scholarship is then awarded to 240 students who get the highest score in the exam. Kansas Distinguished Scholarship Program
The Kansas Distinguished Scholarship Program awards scholarships to students who have been designated Truman, Madison, Mellon, Rhodes and Clevening scholars. The scholarship covers tuition, books and other college related expenses. Eligible students for this scholarship must be willing to continue their graduate study at any Kansas college or university. The aim of the scholarship program is to attract and retain the most meritorious students of Kansas in the state.
The scholarships and grants available in the state of Kansas are both government and privately funded to help students easily finance their college education for better job prospects.
