The name Arizona was derived from the Aztec word which literally translates to ‘silver bearing’. True to its name the state of Arizona offers a wide variety of scholarships and grants for student to finance their higher education. Students already enrolled in the institutions of higher education can also apply for these scholarships and grants.
Flinn Foundation Scholarships
This program awards scholarships to 20 high achieving students who are residents of the state of Arizona. This program in partnership with 3 universities helps enriching the educational experience for the chosen applicants while helping expand the career options for them. The Flinn Foundation Scholarship awards up to $40,000 to the chosen applicants; covering tuition and living expenses while also providing allowance for international study.
The Flinn Foundation Scholarship is open to all areas of study. The chosen applicants are expected to maintain, if not exceed the academic achievements that won them the scholarship.

ASTA Arizona Chapter Professional Development Scholarship
If you are a dependent of a member of the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) then you are eligible for scholarship from the Arizona Chapter of up to $1,500 annually. The minimum requirement to apply for this scholarship is to have a consistent GPA of 2.5. High school students who are residents of Arizona, passed out of schools in Arizona and willing to enroll themselves in institutions of higher education in Arizona are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Arizona residents who are second year students enrolled in a four-year Arizona college or university for pursuing a degree in tourism or travel can also avail the $3,000 scholarship from the ASTA Arizona Chapter.
Arizona Nurses Foundation Scholarship
The Arizona Nurses Foundation Scholarship awards $1,000 to: four undergraduate nursing school students, four masters’ students and two doctoral students annually. The foundation also awards $500 to four associate degree students annually.
The applicant must be enrolled in full-time or part-time courses to be eligible for the scholarship. The applicants must be residents of the state of Arizona. Merit, commitment and financial need of the applicants are taken into consideration while awarding the scholarships.
Arizona Community College Scholarship
The Arizona Community College Scholarship offers scholarships and grants to all high school students who are residents of the state of Arizona, passed out of schools in Arizona and wish to enroll themselves for higher education in two-year Arizona community colleges. The applicants should have a strong academic background as well as a good record of volunteer activities and community service. The scholarship awards up to $500 to the chosen applicants.
Anne Lindeman Memorial Scholarship
The Anne Lindeman Memorial Scholarship awards $1,000 every year to three students for their higher education. The applicants eligible for this scholarship should be enrolled in four-year Arizona University and pursuing a degree in social sciences, education or health sciences.
